Finishing the condition reportThey want it fixed. Do you reissue it as satisfactory?
Free from the notes: Sparky’s video on it, the section word for word as members see it, and a PDF to keep.
The notes
Exactly as they are on the site.
- Outcome: one C1 or C2 anywhere and the report is unsatisfactory. This one has a C1 and three C2s.
- The summary of the condition is the general condition, not a list: “generally in good condition — see observations” can sit beside an unsatisfactory outcome. The defects are in the observations.
- Next inspection: your judgement, with the reason. A rented home: five years at most.
- The C1 was reported the moment it was found: verbally, then in writing, with a photo.
✋If they then ask you to fix it, that’s new work. Agreed, charged, and on its own certificate — a Minor Works for each circuit: one for moving the lighting to the right device, one for reconnecting the ring. The EICR stays as it was issued: unsatisfactory as at the date you inspected. The certificates prove the work was done since.
