When inspection or testing turns up a defect, the installer puts it right, and it is then inspected and tested again before the certificate is issued. Guidance Note 3 is explicit that making good defects is not the job of whoever is carrying out the inspection and testing.

On site, swapping two conductors yourself takes a minute, and plenty of electricians would. In an exam, answer from the book: the inspector reports it, the installer fixes it, and the certificate waits until it’s done.
