The notes
Exactly as they are on the site.
An initial verification proves new work is safe to be put into service. A periodic turns up at an installation that may have been working for thirty years and asks whether it is safe to remain in service. The document is the Electrical Installation Condition Report, the EICR — so you’ll hear it called both.
- The same tests. Nothing new to learn. They don’t all have to be done, and not necessarily in one block — but dead before live, and the order within a circuit holds.
- You report. You don’t repair. Write what you find, not how to fix it.
