People call it a fuse board, a fuse box or just "the mains", but the official term is consumer unit. It's the unit that electricity is distributed from to the people who use it, the consumers.

  • This covers all distribution boards, not just domestic ones. A board in a commercial or industrial building is still really a consumer unit, because the people in that building are consumers of electricity too.
  • Single-phase boards first (an RCBO-ready board and a split-load board), then a live split-load board, then a three-phase distribution board.
