Free notes
The four codes: C1, C2, C3 and FIC1 or C2. What's the one word between them?
Free from the notes: Sparky’s video on it, the section word for word as members see it, and a PDF to keep.
The notes
Exactly as they are on the site.
Four outcomes, and the difference between the first two is how fast, not whether.
| Code | Means | Action | Report outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| C1 | Danger present | Immediate remedial action | UNSATISFACTORY |
| C2 | Potentially dangerous | Urgent remedial action | |
| C3 | Improvement recommended | Not dangerous; would improve safety | Satisfactory, on its own |
| FI | Further investigation is advised | Only in exceptional circumstances | See below |
A C3 on its own does not. You can have a satisfactory report with several C3 observations on it.
