Testing the earthing conductorWhen do you tick the earthing conductor?
Free from the notes: Sparky’s video on it, the section word for word as members see it, and a PDF to keep.
The notes
Exactly as they are on the site.
You can test the earthing conductor the same way — disconnect it, then from its far end to the MET. But you can’t test past the cut-out: beyond it is the supplier’s equipment and, eventually, the transformer’s star point.
So most people leave its “continuity verified” box until the live tests. A sensible Ze, taken with your lead on the earthing conductor itself, proves the earth path all the way back to the source — earthing conductor included.
