Guidance Note 3
Guidance — but following it is how you demonstrate compliance
The Health and Safety at Work Act is the umbrella. It is known as the enabling act — every other set of regulations, the Electricity at Work Regs, PUWER, RIDDOR, Management of Health & Safety, sits underneath it.
✋Recording your results is a legal matter, not a formality. Guidance Note 3 · p.22 links the recording of inspection and test results back to the Electricity at Work Regulations. Fail to record them and you are not conforming — which could be held against you in a court of law.

Test yourself on it

The tests are in the members’ area. Get one wrong and it shows you why, and where to revise.
