Safe isolation: what the assessor is watchingYour hands, or your explanation?
Free from the notes: Sparky’s video on it, the section word for word as members see it, and a PDF to keep.
The notes
Exactly as they are on the site.
Your hands, not your explanation.
- Do you move one hand at a time, and never cross your arms over the board?
- Do you start on the safest combination and work along?
- Is the key visibly on you?
- Do your leads pass GS38 on sight — guards on, tips 2–4 mm, no nicks?
- Did you re-prove?
If something does not make sense, stop and find out why. Retest to confirm, then ask, look it up, or try another instrument. Do not carry on through the sequence hoping it resolves itself. That is as true in the assessment as it is on site.
