An earth electrode test gives three readings: 84 Ω, 88 Ω and 86 Ω. What's recorded as RA?
- a88.0 Ω
- b86.0 Ω
- c84.0 Ω
- dAll three
GN3 gives three earth electrode test methods: E1, E2 and E3. Three readings means method E1, using an earth electrode tester and test spikes in the ground. You take readings with the spike in three positions and record the average.
Working
(84 + 88 + 86) ÷ 3 = 258 ÷ 3 = 86.0 Ω Record RA = 86.0 Ω → answer b
GN3 · 2.6.13 · earth electrode test method E1 · p.78 (Figure 2.26 · p.79) GN3 · take the average of the three readings · pp.78–79
