Continuity is about one thing: a low resistance. You are proving the conductor is continuous end to end, with nothing broken, loose or high-resistance in it.
| Symbol | What it is |
|---|---|
| r1 (little r1) | End-to-end resistance of the line conductor |
| rn (little rn) | End-to-end resistance of the neutral |
| r2 (little r2) | End-to-end resistance of the cpc |
| R1 + R2 | Line and cpc together — the value you record for the circuit |
