Before you buy
It is not a course and not a qualification. There is no certificate, no exam entry and no awarding body. It is study support: notes, diagrams, questions and a tutor.
It is not official. These are unofficial study notes, not produced or endorsed by any training provider or awarding body.
It was written by someone who sat the same exams. Book and regulation references are quoted as given — always check them against your own copies. Page numbers are from the current editions: BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 and Guidance Note 3 updated to A4:2026. Anything that could not be checked against the books has been left out rather than guessed.
Questions
Which exams does it cover?
The Level 3 theory syllabus: basic electrics and the Building Regulations, the 18th Edition, PAT, initial verification, periodic inspection and testing, and condition reporting. There are practice papers for each.
Do I need the books?
Yes. The exams are open book and the notes point into them constantly. They do not reproduce the books, and they never will — that is the publishers’ copyright.
What happens after 12 months?
Access stops. We offer you a renewal before it ends — yours to take or ignore. Nothing is ever charged automatically.
